International awards


The international jury was Daniela Abke (director, Germany), Sally Berger (curator at MOMA, USA), Laurent Guerrier (Clermont-Ferrand short film festival, France), Rune Kreutz (film researcher, Norway) and Christoph Terhechte (director Forum, Germany).

THE GOLDEN CHAIR – INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM
Love You More, director Sam Talyor-Wood.
The award is 2 000 Euros.

Jury states:
” This ecstatic story about adolescent love reveals how music inspires and transforms us. It describes a moment of sheer bliss. Every detail is composed with care and passion. We are happy to give The Golden Chair to a film that arouses one`s senses: Sam Taylor Woods` I Love You More.”

NOMINATION TO EUROPEAN FILM ACADEMY SHORT FILM AWARD 2009
Between Dreams, director Iris Olsson (Finland).

European Film Academy Short Film Award is an initiative made by the European Film Academy in collaboration with the Norwegian Short Film Festival together with a number of well established film festivals in Europe. European Film Academy Short Film Award 2009 is awarded in December, this year in Ruhr, which is a European Capital of Culture this year.

Juryen states:
”This film touches upon the intangible and the unspoken. It takes us on a journey between two physical points and in that process goes into the deeper recesses of one´s hopes and fears. Through a few individual stories the film reveals a subtle interplay between fate and the subconscious. The atmosphere and composition envelope the viewer in another universe. The Nomination for the European Film Award goes to Between Dreams by Iris Olsson.”

HONORARY MENTION in form of a diploma went to:
Anders & Harri by Åsa Blanck and Johan Palmgren (Sweden)
Jury states:
” The Special Mention goes to Anders & Harri by Asa Blanck and Johan Palmgren for depicting the unique qualities of a close friendship that overcomes conflict and personal hardships.”
